Greg McKendry was a Hero

Greg McKendry was a hero. He was the unarmed member of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church who stood up and protected fellow members from the creature who came to kill. Apparently he was the first to resist, shortly followed by others who tackled the creature and kept him from killing more.

I don't know much about Mr. McKendry, don't know how he lived his life. Based on his last seconds, I strongly suspect honorably. The world would be a better place with more like him, and it is a poorer world without.

  1. I live in the community where this happened and have friends that were in the church. You may not know that Mr. McKendry was also a foster father to a homosexual young man....a child who desperately needed someone to love and believe in him.

There is no doubt that Mr. McKendry was a hero.

As someone who lives here, drove past the church this morning and saw the media already setting up camp for the day, I have to say it's nice to see that people, such as yourself, recognize the good in such a horrible situation.
